November 2011
My co-worker saw one of the ladies that works in a different office walking in the hallway with a whole bunch of candy canes in her hands. My co-worker was like “Candy canes!?” to which she replied: “Yeah! They were free in the trash!”.
Ew.
Sometimes things gradually fall away from what we recognize as “normal”.
What’s normal could consist of someone else- of having someone in mind when we make daily decisions. Normal could be missing them every time they’re not there and your fingers lacing together the second that they are. Once things end and they’re gone, we adjust and that becomes normalcy. We adjust because we have to. We begin to recognize that they are no longer who we thought they were, they are no longer who we want them to be. Things change and you go back to focusing on what you’re dealing with then and there with no one but yourself in mind. Yet again, things change- and you find yourself someone who will come into your life to prove that not all hope is lost. That just because we are stuck in a bitter world, we don’t need to attempt to constantly keep ourselves in a dream- there are reasons to enjoy reality.
Thank you. For making these days okay and looking out for my well-being:) For making me feel like i deserve better than to be second choice.
